Senior Validation Specialist, Barnstaple Role: Full time, permanent Location: Barnstaple, Devon Salary: £28k – £35k bonus significant benefits The Role: We’re seeking a meticulous and customer-focussed Senior Validation Specialist to provide a validation resource for our onsite projects, validation status assignments and the continuous improvement of our systems, equipment and procedures. In this diverse role, you’ll have the rare opportunity to work on the validation and qualification of our whole solid oral dosage plant and across the lifecycle of our products. Supporting the development of the site’s validation plan and strategy, you’ll monitor and coordinate all validation activities, including equipment qualification along with process, cleaning, local computer system, utilities and facilities validation. On a daily basis, this means you could be helping us bring new products to the site by proving their safe and consistent manufacturing (writing protocols, generating and handling output data and resolving any deviations), assessing the plant’s cleanliness through swab testing, conducting stage 3 OPV and LCA assessments to identify improvements, risk assessing our utility services or investigating an equipment failure. Supporting cross-functional projects, you’ll work closely with departments across the business to ensure work is completed to the required regulatory and GMP standards, whilst maintaining all validation documents, systems and procedures. In addition, you’ll interpret our Production and QC data, distilling it to an easily understandable format and presenting it to management, regulatory authorities or customers. You may also get to travel to our other sites or visit suppliers to support your continued development. The Person: With a sound understanding of validation principles and regulations, you’ll ideally have a broad range of validation and qualification experience (particularly in the process and cleaning disciplines), along with previous experience in the pharmaceutical sector within a solid oral dosage facility. A degree-level qualification in a science or engineering subject would be beneficial, as would experience of working with statistical assessment tools and software (e.g. JMP, Minitab), health & safety experience (including ATEX regulations) and a knowledge of electrical and mechanical installation. Experience of project management or Sigma Six style working would be advantageous, whilst good IT skills in Microsoft Office and a flexibility to work around standard work hours, if required, is essential. As a person, you’re able to see the big picture and the detail at the same time. You’re a good team player, always happy to support your colleagues to meet targets, but equally comfortable working independently. With strong organisation skills, you’re able to prioritise conflicting tasks, drive projects through to completion and remain accurate and methodical, even under pressure. Your strong analytical mind and numeracy skills mean handling large data sets doesn’t faze you, whilst your excellent communication skills mean you’re happy working with colleagues at all levels, with the ability to diplomatically challenge, influence and persuade. T he Rewards: In return, we offer a competitive salary package (with bonus scheme), a generous pension scheme and 27 days’ holiday (plus bank holidays) per year. We also offer a range of other benefits to support our team, including childcare vouchers, cycle to work scheme, subsidised restaurant facilities and healthcare options. Not to mention the opportunity to be part of a progressive and expanding business with increasing global reach, and the support of ongoing training and development.
