Development Manager – Leading Housing Organisation Exeter, Devon (with travel to sites throughout Devon & Cornwall) c£40,000 Plus Car Allowance (£3,200), Bonus, DIS, Healthcare, Pension, 26 Days’ Holiday (rising to 30 with service) If you have a track record of delivering complex development projects, this is a superb opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that has been creating communities since the 1970s. Our client is a leading not-for-profit organisation that builds, manages and maintains homes for people across the South West. They are now looking for a Development Manager to join their team in Exeter. You’ll join a supportive network of colleagues and have access to excellent learning and development opportunities across all areas of your work. As the Development Manager, you’ll deliver a large, complex portfolio of affordable, mixed tenure and open market schemes, including own build, s106 and joint venture projects. In this important role, you’ll liaise with various teams to ensure the success of new projects and effectively manage potential risks. Specifically, you will: - Manage, procure and deliver projects - Ensure that projects are completed in-line with budgets and agreed targets - Oversee a Development Officer and support them to realise their full potential - Provide stakeholders with programme progress updates - Ensure that bids for grants to funding bodies are comprehensive - Play a key role in the post-completion review of new homes - Recommend improvements to specifications, designs, the management of consultants and internal procedures To be considered, you will need: - Experience of managing and delivering a portfolio of complex development projects - Previous experience of assessing project risk and developing strategies to manage them - A track record of managing budgets and assimilating complex legal and financial information - A degree level qualification (or equivalent) - A full, valid driving licence As the Development Manager, you’ll be a confident negotiator with excellent communication skills. Commercially astute and highly-organised, you will also have strong problem-solving and conflict resolution abilities. A project management qualification with an approved provider, such as an APM, would be beneficial to your application.
