Role Profile TEMPORARY UNTIL 31ST MARCH 2018 ROLE DEFINITION To provide mentoring support to encourage service users subject to Community Payback Orders to progress into education, employment or training, within the context of the Council's Strategic Plan to improve outcomes for service users. This role is solely involved in Structural Funds activity through European Social Funding. KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Corporate Responsibilities To undertake individual role in line with the Council's Strategic Priorities and in compliance with the Council's corporate policies and procedures. To undertake any other reasonably required duties as instructed by Management or someone acting on their behalf, in addition to the role specific tasks & responsibilities detailed below. Role Specific Tasks & Responsibilities Engage with Criminal Justice service users subject to an Unpaid Work Requirement to promote paths into employment Provide mentoring support to encourage clients to progress into education, employment or training and provide advice to service users. Advocate of behalf of service users to make the most use of employability services available in the area. Undertake individual needs assessments and develop individual action plans that will set goals for services users to progress toward employment, training or education. Identify appropriate pathways and resources to skills development. Liaise appropriately with colleagues and a range of agencies, particularly employability and skills and financial inclusion services. Maintain accurate administrative records in accordance with procedures for relevant information systems and work plans are within agreed funding parameters. Organise and facilitate review meetings between service users and agencies. Contribute fully at team meetings in accordance with team working and service development. Escort service users to resources as directed. Produce reports on outcomes using infographics on key performance indicators ESSENTIAL / DESIRABLE CRITERIA Essential Desirable Evidence Education and Qualifications HNC Social Care or SVQ Level 3 Social Care or equivalent qualification HNC Social Care AND SVQ Level 3 Social Care or equivalent qualifications Application Form Interview Experience Experience of working with relevant service user group Experience in a mentoring role Experience in the formal assessment of service users Application Form References Interview Specialist Knowledge A working knowledge of the needs of service users Experience of Employability Services Proficiency in employability, job search and career development techniques and tools.
